Start your engines!

I'm a NASCAR freak; almost as big as I am for Big 10 football. There is no hope for me, and I'm ok with that :c)

Next week is Memorial Day weekend, and since my wife is going to New Orleans for some fun with her sister and cousins, I'm heading over to Charlotte to stay with a buddy (in Concord). He only lives 1.7 miles from Lowe's Motor Speedway, so I picked us up a couple tickets for the Busch series CarQuest 300. Busch series doesn't have quite the following that the Nextell cup series does, though a lot of the drivers compete in both, so the tickets are slightly cheaper and the crowd should be cut from 250k to roughly 75k people.

I'm stoked, and watching the All-Star week all weekend hasn't helped with the anticipation and excitement. Oddly enough, as much as I hope to meet some of the drivers, I'm just as much hoping to run into John Boy & Billy, of The Big Show.

On a side note, big grats to Mark Martin for bringing home the All-Star victory, and a cool $1M. Hopefully he'll return for another run next year, along with my man, Rusty Wallace, since both are retiring at the end of this season.
